Pinellia tumberg agglutinin was purified from saline extract by ammonium sulfate (60%) precipitation and successive DEAE Sepharose chromatography in 0.05M Tris HCL pH 8.0 with linear NaCl gradient. An active fraction was eluted in 0.1~0.25M NaCl and its agglutinating activity to L5178Y was 2,500 units/mg with high cytotoxicity to L5178Y in saline suspension but weak toxicity in Fischer's medium.
